Key slot. Our key slot is really temperamental. Quite often you insert the key and the electrics turn on but the second push won't start the engine (yes, the clutch is fully down). It can take several attempts, releasing the key and re-inserting it before it starts. This happens with both keys.
We also have issues removing the key from the key slot after turning the engine off and again this is with both keys.
We're booked in for the 23rd to have this looked at and sorted under our 3rd party warranty but any extra info/ammunition I can provide the better...
12v socket in front ashtray. This was working on Saturday but had failed when we tried to use it again last night, it is not illuminated either. All other power sockets are fine, (under the armrest, the rear passenger and boot) so I'm not sure if it will be a fuse as I'd have expected them to all be on the same circuit???
I know I can probably find this info in the user manual but that's in the car in my wife's company car park and I'm on a train into London.
I never expected a new(er) car to have so many teething problems in the first week of ownership. Fingers crossed we get it all resolved quickly and with out further issues! It certainly taints the experience!
Hi Phil,
Take a look at this thread, which has links to others detailing the "sticking key" problem:
Key Trouble+
It seems to be a common issue.
With regards to the 12v socket, it sounds like a fuse has blown. It's worth checking the fuses as a first step.
Cheers!
MF.
