I wish that our government would play similar films in this country - maybe then some of the idiots that are on our roads might just think twice. I had to attend an incident only yesterday where a pedestrian had jay-walked across a busy traffic signal controlled junction, and failed to take into account traffic emerging from one direction; the end result for the car wasn't pretty, let alone the pedestrian. The really sad bit is that there was a crossing less than 30ft away.

    Lang may yer lum reek!

Very good indeed. That should be played on as many TV stations over here too. If an ad like that saves just one life, I don't care how many people it upsets or offends. Too many people still see drink driving as no big deal....well IT IS a big deal and any scumbag caught drink driving, whether they have an accident or not, should be locked up for a long long time.

I think one of our bigger problems on this subject is the assumption that many make in terms of being able to drink x amount and still be able to drive competently.

Imho, it ought to be zero. Drink nothing if you want to drive, drink anything and put the keys down.

I don't see why it would be so difficult for people to follow.

i totally agree on the zero alcohol thing. maybe not actually zero, as certain medication can mean you do give a small reading, or if you had one drink the night before and still have a tiny amount in your system, but certainly a lot less than it is now.
personally, i would put up roadblocks and test everyone, but then if i were in charge, you wouldn't dare drink and drive for fear of what would happen to you.

I like a good drink and I like to drive but never mix the two... I think the drink drive limit should be 0 IE if you have had ANYTHING alcoholic to drink then you cant drive
