    hi my a6 has had a diagnostic and came back with the 562 sender for oil level sensor g266 open circuit/short circuit to positive sporadic..and also 562 sender for oil level sensorg266 implausible signal..
    also airbag issue is 1228 airbag cut off switch front passenger side e224 open circuit/short circuit to positive sporadic...and also airbag cut off switch front passenger side e224 defective sporadic...any help how i can sort this out the airbah light comes and goes and also the oil sensor light flashes on display..thanks in advance i also have random abs and traction light coming on then going away once i shut ignition off and reset it

    00562 Oil level/temperature sender-G266

    Open circuit/short to positive or Short to earth = Open circuit in wiring, short or blown fuse

    Implausible signal = Oil level/oil temperature sender -G266 defective


    Check fuse 5 in the dash side fuse box

    01228 Key switch. Switch off airbag, BTU -E224. Open circuit/Short to positive

    Open circuit = Fault finding according to current flow diagram
    Key switch -E224 defective = Replace key switch -E224
    Control unit for airbag -J234 defective = Replace control unit for airbag -J234

    If fuse nr. 5 is ok, the G266 sensor are known to go bad. Don't buy a aftermarket P.O.S, they will make your oiltemp gauge not working.

    True, all the aftermarket level sensors I have tried were rubbish.

    is the sensor the one fitted to the bottom of the sump..any idea how much..also if i turn the keyoff for airbag would this cause the airbag issue to stop..also tonite ive notice sometimes the abs and traction light comes on while driving and goes off if i turn off engine and restart any ideas there ..thanks in advance

    Yepp, fitted to the bottom of the sump. Not a bad idea to replace it when you change oil. Prize? Dealer- way to much. Ebay used oem- 15-20 eur.
    About the other stuff it would probably be the best to scan for faultcodes ( VCDS)

    Intermittent ABS & Traction lights on (at the same time) could be faulty Brake Light Switch (located under brake pedal in driver's footwell). Had this a year ago with my 2002 Allroad AKE 2.5TDI. Replacement secondhand cost £30 with 3 moth guarantee and still going string.
    BUT ..... Before replacing, a vcds scan should identify if this is your probem.

    But a new brake light switch genuine from Audi is about £10! W T F are you doing paying £30 for one?
