Hi I am new to the forum so hope I can get some help with my 2003 a8 air con problem........Aircon did not work when I bought the car, had it regassed, no difference..so took to local garage who are pretty good, he put on Vag-Com for free(result)........it showed the following faults............
00819 high pressure sensor...open circuit
00727 potentiometer in defrost flap motor
00728 left centre vent motor position sensor
00735 recirculation flap motor position sensor
01851 position sensor defrost/upper body shut off flap motor
08169 left rear cold/warm air outlet motor position sensor
01592 sensor air quality
Now the garage checked and found that the condenser had a bad leak, so this is being replaced, as is the high pressure switch, before I start scratching my head and possibly ripping the interior apart for nothing, can anybody tell me is it possible all the motor/sensor faults have one cause or do I really have so many faulty....if the latter is the answer where are they located and how do I access them. thank Ken

Welcome to VWAF

Did he clear the faults, and the rescan?

Could you get the full log off him which will show time and dates when the faults occured?

Hi Chris
Yes the mechanic did clear faults and all was well until I switched the heater/aircon controls on, then all faults reappeared on the rescan, I may try to get a full print out, however the garage boss has now returned from holiday and he is not so generous as the mechanic(if you know what I mean). But if this will help you to help me then I will bite the bullet and book the car in. Thanks Ken

By the way does my first question show weird additions saying "blue, important, etc" in the middle of some sentences or is it my computer ??????

Hi Gupsterg
Thanks for that, looking at the info it would seem that most, if not all of the problems are with motors and/or sensors attached to them. I took cabin air filter off to check its condition, found someone had marked the position of the flaps (I suspect to see if they move) I checked they dont !, I want to check at least one of the motor/sensors. So question, where are they located and more importantly how do I get at them ?
Thanks Ken

Hi keithUK
Thanks for your reply, at the moment work is on hold for a couple of weeks as I am waiting arrival of new condenser, as well as new high pressure switch and air quality sensor, the latter two at such silly money I could not refuse them. I intend to fit all three, have the system regassed and then see what faults are still present (if any).........knowing Audi there will be !!! Watch this space
Regards Ken
