Audi A3 1.8Tfsi manifold flap

My car is not having any problems performance wise that is noticeable and have not noticed any change in the way the car drives.

My engine emission light has come on and when i got a diagnostic check not from Audi said it was a performance issue with the engine manifold flap.
On some research I have heard that it can get clogged up causing it to stick therefore causing the emission light to come on.

After taking it to the Audi approved dealership i felt as thou they were a bit coy and said i needed to replace the whole manifold for £675.

I am feeling like I am losing trust with the Audi brand as i feel they are taking advantage of people who pay a bit more for there service. I hope this is not the case but i do feel they are taking advantage of the type of clientele that use Audi.

Has anyone else had the same problem and how did you get it rectified?

Its more than plausible this is the issue, but get a scan on vcds by someone else, forum member so can see the log before dropping near 1k on the flap.
