ABS control unit

hi again every one

just wondering if anyone could tell me the difference between these two ABS units. the unit fitted to my 1999 1.8t auto sport saloon is a 8E0 614 111B but afer speaking to VW they said this unit was not an option for my car and and they thought it should be a 8E0 614 111AN. from the PR codes the car only has ABS and EDL.
the AN unit only has 8 hydraulic valve where as the B unit has 12.
so the question car if install a AN in place of a B?

The B type units are very few and far between and difficult to find

I believe the current replacement for 8E0 614 111B IS 8E0 614 111F. Depending on the fault, have you considered having your unit repaired. That way you know it will fit and work.
