I have recently found ultimate resolution for Audi battery drainage problem, so I want to share my instant resolution.

It's so easy, no need for VCDS, no software no tools, resolves battery drainage problem, long lasting, instantly, no hustle, immediately!

I have tried opening up alarm siren, but NiCd batteries seems intact... may not be the issue...

My car is Audi A8 4E D3 2004, and it drains batteries during parking, battery change does not resolve the problem, and found one day, before ignition off the car, I did MMI reset, pressing 3 buttons long for a while red LED then after MMI shuts down, battery did not drain overnight, theft alarm LED continues blinking and battery 100%.

So I found my battery drainage issue is MMI shutdown issue.

Then after, these days, I found perfect resolution.

First, CAR + SETUP long pressing, you'll get MMI green setting screen, then you can setup MMI several timers, never well documented anywhere in the Internet. I did try setting these parameter long, instead of 0, it worked, and battery drainage stopped.

It seems that these MMI parameter is control head setting of MMI, setting longer, several values for ex 10 min, 30seconds brabra, these parameter postpone control head shutdown, and successfully shutdown internal MMI periferals I believe, so, the battery drainage problem have been fixed. I have tried several parameter at a time, I have no idea which worked, please try and error green screen timers or other settings, within green screen except for firmware update setting.

Is is said that firmware rerated setting is very dangerous, be careful not to touch it, others no ploblem, and resolves battery drainage problem permanently immediately!

This resolution seems may apply to other Audi models of D3 MMI versions, every body screaming, there seems no reason other MMI shutdown fine without tuning these parameters, so, please try it!

Some one's post says MMI update resolved it, it coincide with my findings, the dealer update may have changed some default parameter for the MMI control head timer, I'm pointing out.

Without dealer cost full firmware update, just setting longer value for several MMI hidden parameters on MMI console, you can always shutdown MMI successfully, not to drain batteries no hustle.

I think MMI is basically multivendor system, so the control head may have some parameter to successfully send shutdown messages to all OEMs, that may be the reason why MMI hidden green menu parameter there.
And if someone find which is the exact parameter for MMI successful shutdown, please post it, and let me know.

Already happily able to shutdown MMI, and I have no idea which worked, and setting longer parameters, there is no side effect, just happy, so, I can now enable welcome home and leaving home, those may drain a little, no wonder, because now, my car is always 100% after nights..

What's more great thing is, fuel economy far get better, because everytime parking battery drained to 1 digit, so full charging will take every 30 minutes, it's a lot of fuel.

Please try and post the results.
