    Hi

Iv got a 2008 A4 B8 2.0 TDi, engine code CAGA. Iv just come back from driving and whilst going about 30mph I noticed a considerable drop in power (seemed as though the turbo wasnt kicking in) and the glow plug warning light started flashing and remained on until I got home. I then started the car up again and took it round the corner to check if the light came back on, it didn't and it seemed to have returned to the amount of power im used to. Iv just checked the manual and it says:

"If the glow plug indicator lamp should start flashing while the vehicle is moving, this indicates a fault in the engine management system. The engine should be serviced without delay."

This is the first time this has happened and I have recently had the DPF pressure sensor changed about a month ago and everything seemed fine up to now. Wat do you guys think is up?

    Thanks in advance,
    James

Hi, If you drive like my wife who tries to get a 1000 MPG out of it, it could need a "Italian Tune -up"- A good thrashing down the round - the rearview mirrow will tell you if its worked.

The emission control system light is now constantly on and the glow plug warning light is flashing nearly everytime I drive it now, going to take it back to the garage that changed the DPF sensor and get them to do a fault code scan.

I did try and do the 'regeneration', so took it for a drive up the main road, keeping the revs above 2500 rpm for 20 minutes (going 70mph in 4th) , but no luck!

took it to the garage and he said there was an EGR valve fault recorded on the system. I said the light hadnt come back on for two days now, said it may have just been sticking....
