Audi A6 MMI problem, not working.

Bought A6 2005 S-line recently and MMI is not working, no power at all. Looks like one unit is missing from boot, as there is amplifier, radio unit and one slot is empty got wires there with label "navigation DVD"
So can it be, that because missing navigation unit MMI does not powering up at all??

If something is missing from the MOST loop the system won't work.

Why was the DVD drive removed?

Get a MMI 2g high drive and slot it in and it should power back up.

Will you be on the phone to the dealer tomorrow morning complaining? I certainly would, especially if the car was advertised with Nav/entertainment system as I saw a dvd drive advertised on ebay from a breakers yesterday & it wasn't cheap (£450ish if I remember rightly).

I'm on my phone, so not got the full ebay page but see it has 6 days left & is at £259. Is that a 'buy it niw price'? Either way if radio was advertised then the dealer should pay if you can't get radio with the nav unit missing -especially at those prices.

I bought second hand A6 from private seller and battery was death and could not check it, but after new battery MMI will not starting up, i noticed those wires also later, as they were nicely hidden

probably seller removed that navi unit, so as i understand, if only navi unit is removed, then all system is death and i can't even listen a radio and can't use MMI at all?
