Whether this is true or not is another matter but all Xenons do come with headlight washers (that pop off in the winter!) Red!
...but apparently not in the US. Many posters on the Audiworld forum are complaining that they do not get headlight washers (or the option to add them) even if they spec Xenon or LED, although the bumpers have the cut outs for them (as the SE bumper has here in the UK)

There's another reason for the legal requirement for washers.

The law actually demands HEATED washers.

Remember that unlike halogen lights, xenons are cold to the touch. Go for a drive in the snow and over time it will build up on the front of the car and unlike cars with halogen lights, there is no heat to melt it.

Now you could use the washers but non heated ones would just add cold water onto snow covered glass which would then freeze.

So without HEATED washers on Xenon lights, a night time drive in the snow would soon end up with you having no lights to see the road with.

Xenons cold to the touch? This is the first I have known a light source that does not generate heat. Can someone explain where the heat goes.

not cold, but much much cooler than normal bulbs - they use electricity to heat a strip of metal white hot to produce light.
xenon use high voltage to stike an arc through gas to produce light. much brighter light, and more efficient so less heat, xenon bulbs are around half the wattage (i think) of normal car bulbs but much brighter.
LEDs use something different altogether, and do produce heat still, i guess similar to xenon.

I think the heated jets is all about heating the jet unit itself so it still works when frosty. There is no way the tiny element can heat the water rushing past. the screenwash antifreeze component fluid in the water is to clear the headlights when its cold. Allegedly, hot water freezes fasterthan cold anyway, and would damage your headlight lenses with thermal shock.

Can this be done on a A6 C6 2010 model via VCDS? I read on the C6 forum (Chris Admin) that some controllers can now accept long coding.

The following is taken from the C6 brochure for S-Line models:

    "Exterior equipment
    Headlight washers
S line body styling (front bumper and
    rear diffuser in Sports design)
    Xenon Plus headlights with LED
    daytime-running lights and kerb lights"

Should the C6 S-Line have these as standard?

    The C6 doesn't support cornering-fogs.

Thanks Chris. Are 'Kerb lights' something else then? Same as door puddle lights or under mirror lights (which the C6 S-Line does have).

It must have been an option you could spec - I remember having a C6 3.0T S line (facelift) for a couple of days as a courtesy car and being amazed that the foglight illuminated when cornering slowly in the dark. Maybe it came as part of the Adaptive Xenon option? I didn't have any success in enabling it on my C6 facelift though.

The cornering lights with the adaptive bi-xenons are actually old school halogen H4 or similar bulbs (from what I can see) that have their own place in the side of the headlight cluster. They come on at low speed and actually do more than just light up corners - also noticeable on country roads at night at low speeds lighting up the ditches etc.

I really like them but still not entirely sure when they decide to turn on - seems to be some combination of ambient light (in town or in country), upcoming junction and road speed.
