    Hi all,

    My armrest has stuck in the up position. any ideas on how I can fix this - I've gently tried a bit of brute force but dont want to break anything!!!

    I'm sure this is something you've tried, but just in case I'll just mention that mine stays in the up position unless you first put it all the way up, before it'll come down again.

    Yeah thanks, its completely in the up position. Its got a button to relese but that dont do much.

    Aah well, worth asking. I just did a search for the topic & there are a couple of similar threads, but I'm not sure if they're relevant to your model:

    A3 16 se armrest stuck upright

    A3 Interior Touch-Ups

    If these don't help I'm afraid I'm out of ideas mate, hopefully someone who knows the model/the workings of the armrest will chip in shortly. Good luck either way.

    All fixed now thanks very much Brycie.;

    I used your link to take the armrest out the the following to fix the problem:

    It took me about 30 mins and just used two small electrical self tapping screws. Works pretty well.

    Hi Matthew, Just a quick cross check is the armrest in S3 the same as A6 C7 Avant in terms of fixing. Mine is stuck upright right now but I don't ever remember using the front button to move it up and down ?? If it is the same Ill get right too it ! Thank for letting me know.
