    Hi all,

I currently have a couple of ticking/clicking noises which i am trying to find out what is responsible for them occuring.

    1st clicking noise:
Happens when car is stationary, turn steering wheel in either direction and i seem to get a clicking noise from behind the light switch (sounds like a relay)

    2nd clicking noise:
When i pull away from being stationary, I can hear a clicking noise (sounds like a relay) from behing the climate control/cd player, this noise is not constant through out my journey (driving at different speeds), just seems to occur whilst pulling away or accelerating at low speeds.

Can anyone help with the above?

    Many thanks in advance

    Hi Liam_s-line

Not these particular noises in the areas you suggest. TBH, I think every car is different despite some ratlles and noises being more common.

Could it be a cable or tie wrap or something on the wiring loom around the steering wheel area maybe....difficult one to confirm without stripping away the covers to have a look.

Same goes for the second Q.

    BTW...is your A3 man or auto/dsg?

Thanks for your reply, i should of said i have a manual. I have noticed the noise behind the steering wheel seems to have vanished....for now.

But the noise coming from behind the climate control unit seems to be at an all time high! It can get very annoying too as im aware of the noise, I swear I hear it more. I am also looking to sell the car soon, but i would rather solve this problem before I do so the person buying it wont try and knock so much money off the asking price.

With regards to what the noise could be, I have no idea, I thought I would create a thread about it just to see if anyone has either experienced this or is currently having this problem too.

    Many thanks

I have the hazzard lights switch ticking (allroad) it comes and goes. I have damp carpet on the left side and a new comfort unit because of the damp, it still needs programming in but that doesnt explain the ticking it stops when the indicators or hazzards are used.
