vagcom 311.2

I've borrowed a laptop with vagcom 311.2 on it, shows as a registered copy, connect it to my a4 b6 and it talks to the car ok, can see some modules and I erased a few fault codes.

Problem is I've installed rns-e and genuine audi bluetooth module, and I need to set some adaptations done, the rns-e works fine and it sees the bt module, but I can't register a phone to it, and the bluetooth logo doesn't show, the vagcom can't communicate with the radio or navigation modules, it talks to the mfsw and I can also talk to the clocks make needles move.

Any ideas anyone, thought it may be a faulty cable but it obviously can talk to the car.

are you sure you have the version right?

Yes, Vagcom release 311.2-N lots of mentions of it on interweb, so appears to be legit

When 311 was current blue tooth had not even been invented, it is something like 12 years out of date! We are on 11.11.1 now!

It will work a bit with K- line which is found on pre-2005 VW's. Post 2005 vehicles use a mix of k-Line and CAN for communication. Audi were ahead of the game so the old K-line cable may not work after 2003 or even earlier. The last version of vag-com 311 was 401, so even your old version is out of date. It will never work on newer CAN vehicles and CAN was introduced quite early on for Infotainment so it won't work for what you want.
