    Hi all,

I am looking at buying an Audi A3 09 plate 1.9 TDI to replace my Golf GT FSI - Costs me too much in Tax and petrol! ;-)

The car it's self has standard Audi Concert stereo, which I don't tgink has iPod/USB function?

So, I'm looking into getting it upgraded so I have iPod, USB, Bluetooth for the phone - But no idea where to look for info on this upgrade? WOuld my local Audi dealership be good (Gilder) or will they charge through the nose?

    Any help appriciated.

No iPod as standard although on Sport models you do get an AUX as standard.

Phone you can retrofit Audis own which is very easy to do - I'm in the middle of doing a retrofit guide and there is a Fiscon guide I posted at the top of this section

Re the iPod you can fit Dension which will allow iPod and USB but no track names

If you want satnav, you can buy a RNSE (193) model LED which can support Audi Music Interface and will display track names and allow iPod/Aux and USB.

If you need nav but don't fancy paying for RNSE, I have a reasonably priced Garmin for sale with 2013 maps see my sig

Audi will charge ££££ for everything but everything you need/want can be bought on eBay for far cheaper.

I'll have a look for the Dension in the morning for you.

As I said - the Sport model comes with AUX as a standard fit item.

Don't know about iphone so don't know if the above will give you a phone connection too. If you do want a Dension with Bluetooth, they have a couple of new units that fit the A3. If you don't have a multi function steering wheel you could use one of these:

Dension Gateway Lite BT GBL3AU2/A2DP non-text Audi iPod iPhone/USB/AUX Adaptor | eBay

If you do have a multi function steering wheel you get more functionality from this:

Dension Gateway Pro BT iPod iPhone USB Bluetooth Audi A2 A3 A4 A6 A8 TT GWP1AC2 | eBay

...which is actually what I've just had delivered and am about to go try fit.

Like UVB has pointed out, the more expensive models from Dension can give you track names, if you have the functionality in your car.

Just to keep you up to date; I managed to fit the unit but currently have no phone audio. I suspect this is a firmware problem as these units have literally just hit the shelves; I'm waiting on a response from Dension at present and I'll post up the results when I have more news.

The music side is working fine with a USB stick plugged into it.
