To cut a long story short I had a friends dog in the back if the car and despite the dog-guard she's managed to half chew through the rear drivers-side seatbelt.

It went in for it's first service the other day and Audi gave me a price of £540 to replace so I was wondering if I could do this myself.

Has anybody replaced a seatbelt on their Q7?

I've seen the parts on eBay and they look like they include the pre-tensioners, is there anything I need to be aware of other than disconnecting the battery before the swap?

Can anybody see an issue with the part:

    Thanks in advance.

Personally any safety item I'd let a specialist or main dealer do it as I would hate to think of the consequences if it failed in an accident 'cos a bolt wasn't tightened to spec etc.

I've considered the safety aspect and for a £450 saving I'm willing to give it a go.

I don't usually carry passengers and it's a lease car so I'm trying to avoid sending it back with a frayed seat belt that they'll charge through the nose for.

I'm afraid I'd be annoyed about it, but grudgingly forking out for the 100% kosher job from Audi & looking for a contribution from the dog's owner. You may not usually carry passengers, but people with kids buy ex lease cars. Not what you wanted to hear, but you asked for opinions.
