    Nothing on VW's website?

The 6 is still classed as the "new Golf"

True, but those special colours are ridiculously expensive! €1,680 for yellow paint, or an even more ridiculous €2,090 for some of the other shades! Normal metallic paint (ie, all the colours we get here in the UK) is €520 for comparison. No idea why anyone would go for them, especially the various ones that are very close to 'normal' paint colours. €2,090 for silver or grey colours that are basically the same as the normal Reflex Silver and Steel Grey/United Grey for €520? Madness. I do agree that the colour range is a bit dull though. I'm not suggesting that they include some of the weird colours that are available on VWAG vehicles (that metallic pale green colour on the Ibiza... YUK) but the metallic red that they've dropped (from the German lineup too) was great.

Of course VW are going to be saying that it's the new Golf, and trying to sell them- there's a dip in demand shortly before the new model, so they're trying to keep the income up. Not telling people who would otherwise wait that there's a new one coming is one way of keeping the demand up.

No it's not. They're all showing white as being free, some (such as the GTI) are showing plain black and Tornado Red as being free, but every other colour costs. Farbspektrum translates as 'Colour Spectrum' according to Google. The Farbspektrum colours all cost between €1,680 and €2,090. There's also 'Außenlackierung Perlmutt' which translates to 'Mother of Pearl exterior paint' (€1,325), which I take to be the Oryx White that's available on the Polo. 'Außenlackierung' means exterior paint, 'Außenlackierung - Uni (Sonderfarbe)' caused some hiccups as Google didn't understand the word 'Uni', which I think means gloss (as in the normal Candy White colour) here, and 'Sonderfarbe' means special colour, while describing Tornado Red and Black. 'Metallic' and 'Perleffekt' I think are pretty self explanatory, and both cost €520. The 'Uni', 'Metallic', and 'Perleffekt' colours are all available on the UK configurator, although £495 compares badly to the €520 the Germans are paying for metallic paint!

What I think VW Germany have done is to simply put the special order colours on the configurator. They still all cost a bomb (again, €1,680 for yellow paint!!!).

Various engines aren't available on the Polo in the UK too, such as Bluemotion Technology on the 1.2 petrol, 1.2 TSI, and 1.6 TDI, and the 86PS version of the 1.2 TSI, and the 105PS version of the 1.6 TDI, and DSG boxes on various things that aren't the 1.4 petrol! Bit of a shame, I'd love the 1.2 TSI with Bluemotion Technologies a few years down the line! Got 6 years of Uni first... prices will have come down nicely by the time I graduate.

It normally takes VW at least 6 months to have the RH drive models for UK sale after the German domestic market LH drive models are made available.
