Aaahhh it's great not having any car related problems anymore - hence my reason for not posting for aaaages!

Love my Mk2. Best, most reliable car I've owned.

    That is all.

whats not to love about a mk2 golf, the second best car ever built, only beaten into 1st place by the audi 80.
my mum had a nasty crash in her beloved b reg 1.6 e, it did exactly what its meant to in a crash and protected her well, for which i am forever grateful.
Audi 80 tdi avant with 360,000 miles...

    Sarcasm Zol, Sarcasm (!).

I'd give my left....arm, for an older VW.

I've had to lock my savings in an ISA with VWFestival coming up I think I'd be too tempted to bring one home.

Really is a great car - built like a Panzer tank. Just wish I'd have got one sooner, before wasting thousands on inferior more modern, bottomless money pits! I like the way it is all mechanical, rather than digital. No ECU, no fuel injection! I guess the number of them still on the road is testament to the engineering behind them.

It is funny though. Some people just don't 'get it' and give me funny looks. On the other hand, plenty of strangers have come up to me and asked to buy it off me there and then!

All it asks for is an annual oil and filter change - which can be done for less than £30! And it still returns 40 mpg!

Best car in the world. That's why we've had three and still got two!
Ours costs no more to run than the Skoda, probably less infact. As good on fuel, cheaper insurance, same tax, cheaper to service and no finance on it. The only blemish is a spot of rust on the sill, which has been treated to prevent spreading until the wedding is past and we have spare cash.

Also, our GTI was stood for at least 3 years under a fir tree, covered in moss. New battery fitted, started first turn of the key. What a car.
