So the RNS-E PU (2011) is successfully retrofitted to my S4 B7 which previously had a BNS 5.0 . BNS 5 now for sale if anyone is interested. This was simply a wire change from green to blue connector and then the coding changes - thanks to Kite for his help here. Note: whilst RNS-E PU has a better resolution screen and higher capacity SD slots the only downside is that you can't change the start-up screen to S4 (or RS4). You can code it successfully but the image files aren't there to load (as Audi didn't still make the S4/RS4 in 2011 I assume). And you can't change it to anything else as the startup screen option (Channel 18) has to match the Model coding (second digit in the string).

Next task is phone (and music). Main concern is phone. I have an iPhone and I would like to be able to plug in to the car and use it via MFSW. Music is a less important but ideally I would like to do this. I also have the CD-changer installed.

I've seen lots of posts with comments on AMI, SDS, Audi Bluetooth, Denison, Parrot etc. Having only had the car a couple of months I not too clued up and would welcome comments on the pros and cons of each option. Also I have an iPhone 3GS but plan to get the iPhone 5 when it comes out in the next few months.

    Hi,

I may be interested in the BNS 5. Can you send me any more details? Is this easy to fit & will it work with the bluetooth phone kit already installed?

I used to use a Parrot CK3100lcd and an after market iPhone connector for music. It plugs into the CD changer port on the back of the head unit..

It worked seamlessly.. or however you spell it. The only downside is that you lose your CD Changer but it would be defunct if using your iPhone for music anyway..
