    Hi

    A few guys at work have added the VW mod chips to their cars and have been raving about performance and economy increases. The type used are these, as seen on ebay.. they are only £25

    I would be sceptical myself. I believe it works by tricking the engine temps?? They've had them on the 115 and 130 PD models for 12 months with no issues to speak of.

    Has anyone used these, are they safe or they just a crude quick fix for some extra grunt? My car is well maintained and intend to keep it for a long time yet, so I wouldn't plug anything onto it I'm not sure about.
