agree on the motor but also check integrity of wiring...... air con performance suffers when the pollen filter needs changing???

This might sound silly, but how do you check the integrity of the wiring?

I assume just a visual inspection as it is all enclosed in plastic covering!

Im going to assume that the air con is a separate issue but a coincidence. It has struggled to keep the car cold these last few days. If you set it to 17* it blows on full whack constantly.

Look to see if the fuse it ok, it is on the same fuse as the air con fans. If it is gone disconnect the anti shudder valve wiring plug till you replace the part, or the fuse will blow again.

    Thanks.
I have looked at the fuses and they all seems OK. There are two 'air con' related fuses in the drivers side fuse board and they both look good. I assume it would be one of them.

It's all disconnected now an isn't being driven anywhere until fixed!

There's no association between the engine fault and your air con issues. If the pollen filter is renewed and you still can't reduce cabin temperature enough then the system may need a service/re-gas.

I think I will change the pollen filter! I had it re-gased only a few weeks ago.

    Just to pull this thread around in a nice big loop;

I pulled the electronics from the throttle body which then produced a different error in Vag Com. This rested my mind that it was indeed faulty as opposed to just being thrown the wrong fault code.

Bought a new part from EuroCarParts (Currently got 30% off)
Fitted, cleared DTC's. And now its all good.

The whole removal and refit process took about 40 minutes. Fairly easy to do.

Thanks to everyone that helped here on the forum.

i am having bother with this aswell,
engine management light on then off then on and so on,
got it checked and fault read intake flap motor faulty,
i took it off the car and cleaned it and took off the cover as you have done in pic 2, it was soaked with used engine oil,(as yours is)
is their meant to be oil in there?????????????, i would have thought it would short the electrics,
i replaced it with one from ebay and car still shuddered at 1800 rpm, management light stayed on for a while then went out,
100 miles later turbo blew, though i think this was a result of previous oil pump failure,
    any advice or help please,
