Front drivers seat

The drivers seat on my previous mk 6 3 dr tsi went a lot further forward than the drivers seat on my tdi 3 dr anyone know why, no im not going mad its definately true theres a metal stop on the runners anyone even children would struggle to get in the rear seats any ideas anyone

I am not sure if this helps, but when I got my 3 door the drivers seat would not go back to the original position after I tilted and slid it forward for access. I noticed on the outside runner there was a small silver block which just stayed on the runner and did not move forwards with the seat, with the seat in the forward position I slid this block forward until it was fully under the runner, then released the seat and slid it back to the required position. From then on the seat always returned to the original position.
This cheap little block seems to be the only difference between a 3 door and 5 door. It is perhaps possible that it can come out of the front of the runner and stop your seat moving forward correctly.
Does your seat return to the original position after you tilt and slide it forward, if not then it is probably this block which is incorrectly situated.
