Hi. My indicators have just started flashing too rapidly on both sides. The Hazard appears OK. Any ideas what it could be? (C5 Allroad, 2002)

And the repeaters are working ok too? Never heard of this, apart from when one of the bulbs is out obviously.

Is the stalk on or off or is it doing it without interaction?

Repeaters look to be OK, and only flashing when indicators actuated...

I would suspect a faulty hazard switch, the relay is built in.

Agree with kite, i remember my allroad having similar symptoms, then intermittent faults, then indicators failed. Replaced the hazard switch (indicator and hazard relays are built into the switch)

    Hi,

Either a bulb is out or your hazard light switch is defective.

Id suggest the former as when the switch fails, indicators usually don't work at all.

Check all 6 bulbs and if all working, check the wattage.

    Hope this helps.

I reckon you need a new relay as kite says. Mine went haywire and teh indicators just flashed madly and at different rates, hazards fine. It's easy to replace and sits behind the hazard warning button as it's an all-in one unit. Slides out and unplugs.

Just changed the relay, it wasn't that, still the same on both sides. I think it may be to do with towbar twin socket wiring. There is a clicking sound coming from down near the nearside rear light, like a relay, and when I plug the caravan in, the lights are back to normal speed.

Turns out it was something to do with what is called a 7 way Bypass Relay in caravan towbar wiring. A few shakes and it was sorted!
