    Hi,

The engine light has kept coming on and on for almost half a year now. The error code is "16804 / P 0420 Catalyst system, bank 1: efficiency below threshold." The diagnostic tool also reads "output dose not have a contact short to positive". I have read the Ross tech wiki and I know the possible faults that causes this fault code, but I have never seen anyone comment on the "output dose" message. Does this make sense to any of you? The upstream lambda sensor has been replaced but the code came back. I guess the next step would be to try replacing the downstream lambda?

    My car is an 2006 Audi A 3 Sportback 1,6 L BSE

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,
    Oeyvind

I'm not a mechanic, but try the possible solutions first and rule out the sensors.
