Hi, just got my 2004 A3 this week and whilst cleaning engine bay I whiped top of brake reservoir and the top part with the yellow icon on came apart from the screw top cap. On closer inspection it had been glued on before. I' ve glued it back on but I'm still getting the red warning light coming on dash.

Does the sensor have to go back in a certain way?

    Thanks

Sorted, put a little brake fluid into the body of the sensor holder and light gone out. Will sort a replacement cap out for permanent fix.

Glad that you got it back on. You should look at when the brake fluid was last changed - under normal conditions it should be changed every 2 years, because it degrades over time, as it absorbs moisture. This isn't going to be helped by your cap not fitting properly, and you don't know how long it has been like that.

Yes good call, I found a receipt for some brake work done in Feb but does not mention a full change. Slowly starting to build up a list of jobs.
