06 A4 Cabriolet stuck roof - Locked on one side

Hi guys

Thought i'd see if someone could help any help would be appreciated. My A4 roof got stuck when I tried to put the roof down. I tried to do the manual reset using the key but got halfway through.
This is what I did:-
Managed to lock the roof with the key. To close the roof. In hindsight wish I left it at this stage.
Began the process of unlocking and manually storing the roof.
I was in a rush due to rain in England weather is temper mental at the moment. When I put the roof back in the box the lid that covers the roof was not on properly secured only one side was in properly. I made the mistake of locking the lid at this stage. When i've tried to reopen using the key to complete the reset process the key wont budge and release the locking mechanism. Not sure what to do any advice would be appreciated.

Hi - I appreciate this post is 8 years old but in the hope you get an email notification on posts did you ever sort this problem? I have exactly the same issue so would really appreciate some guidance on the path to fix this.
