My Sat Nav (the full disk-based one that came with the Technology Pack) does not seem to remember my "favourite" destinations!

I programmed a few in, and it saved them for the day, but when going to choose one the next day, they had all vanished! This has happened a few times now... It does remember previous destinations, and it remembers where my Home location is, but that's all.

Anyone else encountered this, on any Audi system?

Did you have a phone connected at the time you saved them by any chance?

Hi! I usually have my iPhone or work Blackberry connected... Do I sense an issue here?

Nope no issue - although the destinations saved will appear dependant on which phone was connected at the time of saving.

Example - if your iPhone was connected when the destinations were saved then they are matched to the phone so when you connect your blackberry they wont appear as they are paired to the iPhone.

I (think) that's how it works

Crikey! That's an interesting development - I'll try putting my other phone in... Top tip!

So am I better off not connecting any phones when inputting favourites? I.e. will they then be visible to all phones then?

Not sure on that but try it anyway - I remember seeing this somewhere else on the forum so it must be a MMI-wide thing.

Although it doesn't happen on my 2G car.

Well, I connected my iPhone up.... and the Favourites appeared..... Then disconnected it, and re-connected my Blackberry, and a slightly different set of Favourites appeared (Probably from my second attempt at putting them in)

So it would seem that, as you said, each phone has a set of Favourites stored against it on the MMI system. Disconnecting all phones results in no Favourites at all showing. I guess the next step would be to add some Favourites when no phones are connected...?

Well thanks for the suggestion though - I had spoken with Leeds Audi, and they said they had no idea, and to bring the car in for a check-over!

I suppose it makes sort of sense, to have your favourite destinations linked to the "driver" who has their phone plugged in.... but I would have thought that Sat Nav would be independent of driver - I can imagine future rows breaking out with the Mrs e.g. "The destination is on Favourites", No it isn't, Yes it is etc etc

Ah well, you could just save destinations to both phones to get around that and again with your OH's phone too.
