Just discovered drivers footwell under water, used rear washer other day.stank of cats p!,,. So decided to flush it through only to discover it was filling the footwell.Turns out there's a bodged repair on the hose that's come apart. It was done by pushing the existing ends into a larger bit of rubber tubing.how or why it severed in the first place I've no idea.it runs in the wiring loom along doorside under plastic trim and carpet .worrying!.Any ideas for a good fix?

Does anybody know how to remove the bonnet release catch,so I can lift the carpet try and dry it out
    thanks

    Regards Doug

If it's a 1971 Sunbeam Stiletto, then I seem to recall that there's 2 screws holding the release catch onto the wheel arch. But you should be able to remove the carpet without moving the catch if you're careful.
