Just replaced my camshaft on my B6 1.9tdi pd (105hp) after fault developing 5 days ago, I decided to replace head gasket whilst I was at it as I have had a water leak ever since I have had it!
Bolted it all back, with no issuse, fired it up, all good, felt a bit flat on the throttle, took it up the road, and it was very under powered almost like it had no turbo!
Spent a day faffing around looking for air leaks on the vaccum side, checked the boost, seems all good, maf sensor etc un able to find anything at fault. It is drivable although alittle slow off the mark and the fuel ecconomy is low. (use to run at about 46mph its now 38mph)
All I can think of is that it might need some sort of adjustment/set-up on the injectors.
    Does any one know?
I didn't want to play with the adjusters on the top of the injectors. I'm not that technical!!
    Hope this all makes sense!

Any chance that you didn't get the timing right?

I did wonder about the timing, The right timming pins were used. It doesn't knock or anything, sounds nice infact, might be worth checking tho!

I would hope it's the correct shaft, got it from euro parts, they took the reg number. It all looked good!

    Thanks for the replies!

Before you do anything else, get it read for fault codes.

Thanks Crasher, that was the first thing we did, came up with glow plugs, open circut on 3&4. Changed them!

    Didn't think it was that!

I did change the maf censor, it did changed it slighly but not for long! boost was improved but fuel ecconomy was still pants!

Going to take it to a diesel place near me! They can give it a look over!

For sale passat 1.9tdi in black. One careful owner, and one not so careful!!!! Grrrr!

Was the AMM (MAF) you fitted genuine VW or "other"? Are there any fault codes now? If there are no codes, fit a genuine VW dealer supplied AMM and see what happens. If it cures the problem, take the spurious AMM back and ask for a refund plus you may have an issue if you have no exchange unit to hand back.

I would get a complete engine measuring block read out using VCDS. That will give Crasher some straws to grasp.
