road noise on 19's

just got a set of 19" rs4's to replace 18" rs6's. before put new rubber on them cos tyres barely legal, have put 2 alloys on front to make sure no buckles etc and run smooth. have had 19's on a vectra in past but dont remember them being so noisey on the road.

Could be as simple as it being a different car and the amount of soundproofing it has, or have you changed the size of the side-wall on the tyre?

no all sizes same. no doubt there is a clear increse in noise between the 18 and 19's but i did have radio off listening for noise incase catching. off on a run today so see if get used to it and no longer notice.

a just got an a4 2006 they put 4 brand new tyres on it but theres a loud noise when i go above 30 these are also 18" ive had into audi twice and its defo the tyres i asked one of the mechanics and he said its because there cheap tyres with the markings on them thats causeing it

that mechanic wants to but expensive tyres price of them. my 18s make quite a bit of road noise also, so sure he is right and thats all your noise is. i found the 19s were even worse but you get used to it. worth it bigger alloys look better so stick with them.
