Hi, first post, I have an audi a4 b6 2.5tdi. Had a little black smoke when on boost for a while, normal for 170k engine. Engine light came on EGR fault so changed that yesterday and put in a new air filter. Cleared the ecu and went for a drive, almost straight away noticed lack of boost, seams to stop boosting at about 2200 rpm and lots of black smoke. I evern have to change down gears when going uphills, never had to do that before.Put old air filter back in, no change? No engine light on but still cheched for faults and i came up with fault p0299. After reading around the web I go a new map sensor today but cannot see where it is on the car. Any help re the map sensor location and anything else would be great as off to the iow on monday for a week so dreading the drive

    Thanks

    Andrew

Many thanks for the picture, found the sensor and changed but found the intercooler it was on has a leak so I think its that causing the loss of boost. Any recommendations for replacement parts. Would you think its that causing my issues.

Could be, that fault code is under boost, not over boost so a split intercooler makes sense.
