I don't recommend to turn the "feature" on. It's not so intelligent to recognise a wall or a parking situation.
I had that functionality on all my previous cars. From Citroen C4, to VW Passat. Almost never sensors started to beep in traffic jams. Always detecting obstacles very good. I refuse to believe Audi has lower quality system. In Croatia, we do not have huge rush hours, so I believe I'll be fine. The thing is, my local official dealer claims that this functionality is not possible with my car. I have official audi warranty till 2023, so I'm not sure about using OBD11, as I don't want to loose warranty over this

Until 2023? How did you get such long warranty?

Previous owner was german pope, and there was an option to buy extended official warranty, which is covered in whole Europe. Apparently but only at the time of order of the new vehicle, very expensive option. I didn't even know about it until I bought the car and went to my deal for car inspection. Win for me!

Wow, never heard of it. You are a lucky one!

Anyway, IMHO the easy tricks doesn't interfere with the warranty, as these are common options which are enabled in several countries and denied in the other ones. Without a trick, you can't get this option, as it's not an MMI user selectable option.

If I do this with OBD11, and revert it back to original setting before going to dealer for inspection/service, will audi dealer be able to tell that i was "messing" with car options?

I think you will be OK... These settings and codings are "safe" so as long as you note down the original binary codings you can change them back at any time.

I also think this is a useful setting... I have the "standard" front/back sensors on my "C7.5" A6 and I drove a friend's Vauxhall and that one turned on its front sensors automatically at speeds below a certain limit like 10km/h or so..

The one thing I am unsure about is, in the A6 (at least in mine with standard sline sensors) the display is common and shared with navigation/entertainment, when the sensors activate, the display then changes to prioritise the sensors.. So I am assuming if you want your (front) sensors to always be active then the shared common display will always show the sensors?

Unless there is a setting to automatically activate the sensors below a certain speed... That would be slightly better I think...

I have the VCDS tool... I've done some changes to my settings... But I can't say I've seen anything that would enable the sensors automatically...

I'm becoming hard of hearing and the indicator repeat on my Avant is barely audible. This can cause problems as indicator often remains undefeated. Can any control be exercised over loudness of repeat audio?

    Many thanks.

Yes, just get a hearing aid. You'll hear indicators and all other important audible traffic events outside the car better. Get a cheap non prescription one, just use for driving.

No to the VCDS but if you press in either the left or right scroll button on the steering wheel, can't remember which, it stops the beep albeit temporarily while the door is open.
