Living abroad with my rhd vw, having swapped my rear fog and reverse light inner lens on my standard golf mk5 sdi to conform lhd with driving regs as it only has one of each nothing has changed, when the fog is switched on the reverse light illuminates now and when the reverse is engaged the fog light does , help, does the vdcs need to to entered and if so does anyone know how and what needs to be done to swap the switch functions

Yes, there is an option in VCDS to swap them over.

    Hi Newbie here,

Like others in the thread I will soon be moving to Germany with RHD cars (Golf MkV and Octavia II when it is finally built). I have paid the dealer to swap previously but I am considering buying VCDS and cable as both cars require this procedure (although having looked at the Briskoda forums this may be more difficult on the Octy than the Golf).

A quick question if I may...

On the MkV you are required to swap fog / reverse inners and then reprogramme via VCDS. If you use the activate both fogs setting as per Phil's photos do you not just activate the reverse light when you switch the fogs on?

Is there not a requirement to change the country codes so the car is set up as LHD?
