Hi everyone, I am new to the site and this is my first post. Sorry if I am covering old ground but I couldn't find the answer on here.

So my problem is my turbo blew last week. I am about to order a new one but have heard that the k04 turbo is a direct fit for the k03.

My car is a 2004 B6 A4 1.8t sline avant 190. I believe it has already been remapped.

The question is can I replace my blown k03 with a new k04 and is it a straight forward swap and all will run ok? Or is it best to just stick with the standard k03 turbo.

Hi there, just stick with the KO3S.It actually depends how many brakes you are looking for and how much are you ready to spend. You won't see much difference from KO4-001 replacement. And as far as I know KO3S is stronger.Stick with it and get it remapped. You are looking at 220-230bhp with nice panel filter or cold induction kit. Many people have done it,including my mate who has VRS Octavia. Also keep the wallet happy.Hope that helps!
