Ok, when the orange error light flashes the compressor should run, can you hear it?

Does the orange light flash for about 1-2 mins?

Did the compressor run before you fitted the kit?

If the compressor did run before you fitted the kit make sure you push the power plug connection together properly,

If the compressor has never run check the 40AMP fuse and relay for the compressor, and/or put 12v straight onto the compressor motor plug to see if it spins.

Let us know and we will get you up and running again.

    Regards

    Andy

    Hi Guys
    I have an Allroad ('54) 2.5 quattro.
About 2 months ago the nearside front suspension sank to L1. I pressed the button it lifted fine. It has been like this now for 2 months but has now got worse. Sometimes I lift it to L3 and it stays there for 3 or 4 days then it sinks again. Normally I just switch off the engine restart and press the up button and it goes back to L3. Today it is not working and just refuses to budge off L1. Is this a compressor fault or an electrical fault. Please help!
    Thanks
    Mike

    Hi,

The front would have been sinking lower than level 1, this is an airbag leak, the leak has also tired your compressor out.

The airbags only leak at low levels such as 1 & 2 and not so much at 3 & 4 hence it would sink down but fit ok at level 3,

Does the compressor run while the error light flashes?

It will flash for 120 seconds to try and lift the car.

I have a compressor repair kit and brand new front airbags I can supply you, email me for costs.

Let us know if that compressor is running only while the error light flashes

    Best regards

    Andy

When I turn on ignition I can hear compressor. Normally it goes up once turn on engine. Sometimes it stays on L2 for a few days, then sinks. Today I just can't raise it. The compressor is working but the dash symbol is flashing yellow.

    Hi mike,

Ive sent a message to your email, ref what you need to fix it, best to remove your email above to prevent spam,

Ref the car, the compressor running is good, let the light flash for 2 mins, the second it goes solid turn the car off and back on and let it try again, do this max 4 times, it may lift, if so get it up to level 3,

You need to change this leaking airbag and refurbish the compressor and it will all be back to normal.

    Any questions please just ask.

    Best regards

    Andy

Hi, this is my first ever forum post. I have a problem with the air suspension on my 2004 allroad which I have been trying to solve for three weeks! I replaced the compressor piston ring and the car worked well for a few days but now the compressor fails to switch on. The compressor runs fine on the bench, relay N111 works and has a resistance of about 17 ohms and G290 has a resistance of about 10000 ohms. There is no 12v supply to the compressor despite checking relay J403 and swapping it for another in the car and the 40 amp fuse is good. The car is sat on the suspension stops. The warning light flashes for about two minutes and then goes solid. Testing with vag com has not highlighted much that I didn't already know. For the first two minutes it shows relay J403 on, both rear valves open but compressor not on. After two mins the relay J 403 is off and the rear valves closed when the warning light becomes solid. The only fault code is 01400. THere is an inital 12v supply to N111 when ignition turned on and voltage to G290.

    Has anybody got any suggestions?

If you Put 12v direct onto the compressor motor, does it run?

or does the compressor run for 1second then stop?

you say no 12v supply, only check for a voltage to the compressor connection while the light flashes,

et us know all the sbove

Ok, sorry I re read your post

Make sure the compressor motor plug I plugged fully in, check for 12v at the compressor connection only while that error light flashes,

If the compressor runs for 1-2 seconds only then unplug temp sensor. And try it

If no 12v it must be relay, fuse or wiring

Let us know what you find.

    Best regards

    Andy
