If you have not seen this before it is worth downloading as it shows the extent of the problem that affects both Passats and Golfs of various ages. It seems to take a while to load but be patient as it is worth it. Whether it applies to Audi I do not know but if you have the blisters it is the same problem which will be covered by your 12 year Corrosion Warranty.

DO NOT CLAIM UNDER ANY DEALER OFFER OF A GOODWILL CLAIM. You already have your 12 year Corrosion Warranty!
    +1 on Chipped's comments.

This is all extensively covered already in the VW Passat section, where Chipped, I and dozens of others successfully claimed under he 12 year anto corrosion warranty.

To be fair this was after being offered 50% goodwill, then FINALLY 70% goodwill.........I along with many others stuck it out and got 2 new wings fully resprayed and paid for in full by VW under warranty, or goodwill as they wanted to call it.

I spotted rust appearing on the lower edge of the front wings of my 55 plate TT. Took it to my local dealer (JCT600 in York) and they contacted Audi Customer Service with photo's. They say the rust is on what they refer to as edge and fold area and it has not come through or perforated the panel! However they have agreed to do the repair free of charge as a gesture of goodwill! BONUS!

Goodwill, Yeah I'll crack the jokes!!
Its warranty plain and simple, but let's be honest, as long as they're repairing it "FREE OF CHARGE" at no cost to you, they can call it whatever they like?
    Congrats

    Best
    Jim

Cheers Jim, I suspect when I take out the wheel arch liners I shall find the area packed with road grime and this damp gunk holds the moisture hence the corrosion! Design fault maybe?

    however result is right one!
