    Hi

Have searched the internet for help here and found lots of questions but no answersthat helps me.

My 1997 Petrol, Manual, Alhambra just will not give out heat from theinterior heater anymore. Was never that good from day 1 when new but now thetemp gauge will not lift more than a needle width off the bottom unless I leavethe car running and stationary for half an hour plus.

So going back to basics I guess the thermostat has stuck open so have boughta replacement. Now the problem - I can't find the location of the housing toreplace it.

Most suggestion are saying that it is at the engine end of the bottomradiator hose but it is not obviously there to me.

Could somebody please tell me where I can find the thermostat housing – the wifehas struggled through the winter with no heat to clear the windscreen and now Ijust need to get this fixed.

Many thanks in advance for any help here.

    Regards

    Colin

Hi Colin the thermostat housing is on the drivers side of the block behind the alternator IIRC, the hose goes to the bottom of the rad, the housing is bolted up with 2x 10 mm bolts, it does sound like the stats failed in the open position, and a change of stat should see the heater working again

Well it looks as if the thermostat housing must be buried behind the Air Conpump - so will have to wait for another day when I am prepared to strip thatoff as well. Air con is not something I have played with before so not too surehow much I can dismantle without letting all the gas escape. Anyone haveexperience of removing this pump on the Alhambra I wonder?

    Cheers

    Colin
