    Hi,

I currently run a B6 Passat 2.0 TDi, but im itching to get back to something more 'spirited'!

    I would be looking at a MK1 180 2wd - no quattro.

Obviously the two can't compete MPG wise but i would drive sensible to work, but a bit of fun on my off days.

My only concern is my commute, 35 miles each way to work, but it is all M3-M25.

If i was to cruise @ 60-70mph which is what i do now ( no rush to get to work!) what sort of mileage can i expect to get from a full tank of petrol??

I know people will say if ur worried about fuel keep the diesel but if i can find a tolerable compromise i will be happy.

    Appreciate your opinions.

    Lewis

what a **** question. you should get close to 35-40 on the m'way in a petrol. i get close to 40 in the 3.2 going 80 all the way. if youre that worried about mpg, stick with what you have.

    Was that manner really required,
I didnt think he was worried but simply after a bit of an experienced opinion

To the original thread starter, is there a reason for sticking to 180 non quattro, I believe the 225 quattro offers slightly better economy as well as the obvious other benefits from four wheels driven
