Just had a thought--(I wondered where the burning smell was coming from).

Lots of us on here have been helped and have saved lots of dosh by current and past members of this forum--always free of charge.

Hows about making a small donation to forum (even just a £iver '£5')-- when anyone saves us a trip to 'the dark side' !!. ie - MDs.

It really is reassuring that at VW Audi forum--there are people willing to help others .
Some real clever people on here who are only too pleased to help others.
Without the forum as a base- they are faces that would never be seen . (I wont name names- would only make their heads bigger) hah.
Think about it --it makes sense.

Thank you for the suggestion...

VW Audi Forum has always wanted to be free for Members to use, the site is funded by the valued supporters and sponsors that advertise on the site, which I really appreciate, without them there would be no site.... This does not mean that donations would be refused, in fact there is a PayPal on the home page to do this if members so wished..... and some have

As I say, the valued sponsors provide enough funds to cover the running costs as it stands now, this may change, who knows.... So.......

How about I make a deal..... any donation made by Members for the reason given above between now and December 2012 will be kept to one side... and at the end of the year, maybe around Christmas, I donate these contributions to charity... maybe as it is Christmas one or two Childrens charities?

Lets me set some guidelines for this fund raising.... What I will do:-

(1): I will keep all donations given due to help received to one side, separate from the site funds....

(2): On December 1st I will total up the balance from donations given because of help you received..

(3): Towards Christmas 2012 I will donate 50% to each charity ...

(4): If possible I will make a contribution to the figure raised on behalf of the site.

(5): The two charities will be... Great Ormond Street Hospital and Birmingham Childrens Hospital

I think this is an excellent idea, and a good way for Members to show there thanks to others....

Lets have a good go at this, no matter how small the donation...
