I am wondering what sort of discounts others have managed to get on a new A6.

I am negotiating with my local dealer over a new A6 avant biTdi which with all my options is about £60k.
Drive the deal are showing about 17% off. My local dealer has gone straight to offer about 7% and is making noises like they could go towards but not over 10%. All my usual negotiating techniques are getting me no where. Every 1% is £600 so its worth the effort.

I dont want to take finance but it looks like they get a big incentive, so looks like i will have to finance part of it which is fair enough i suppose.

So, what discount did you manage to get on a new private buy factory order?
PM me if you dont want to go public.
Does anyone know which dealer supplies drive the deal?

    Many thanks.

Remember you can always take the finance get the discount, then there is nothing stopping you paying off the finance a month in as it's an FSA regulated product (VWFS) if you come into funds to allow you to do this...........your allowed to make multiple lump payments at any time

As I have already eMailed Rob, that is exactly what I am doing, I shall pay off the finance the day the paperwork arrives. The penalty is the first month's interest, which is very little compared to the saving.

I don't really understand the business model, as I appear to be making thousands of pounds and paying back umpence.

Only when I got the finance paperwork did I see that there is a crippling penalty for driving more than 10k miles pa or 30k in three years. This was never mentioned to me, and I could easily have missed had I not read the small print, so beware of that one.

On closer reading, I think that they only apply if you do not complete the purchase at the end of three years.

Not yet, i dont think there are any RHD ones made yet. There are lots of reviews on youtube, it looks tremendous, and i enjoyed the standard3.0 to drive. The bitdi is likely only to be better, though it is abit heavier so might be less agile.

I drove a 535D and was quite disappointed. Not keen on the 5 interior either.

    My understanding:

Excess mileage only applies on personal contract purchase plan if you want to hand the car back at the end of the contract and you've exceed the agreed total mileage / if you want to trade in the value of the car at the end of the plan and get a new pcp deal.........if you buy the vehicle even if you're over the mileage you don't get charged for it
