Buying advice

Hi I am looking to buy a B6 with the 170bhp TDI engine

The car has done over 100k miles - I typically buy quality cars around this mileage and run them for 50k miles. I assume that the passat is more than capable of this?

I am concerned about the injectors, but have read that the 170bhp model is less of an issue, is this the case? if they do fail how likely is it that VW will contribute?

I currently run a Mercedes E320CDI, but looking for something a little more economical as my next car.

The Glow plug light is showing on 2 cyclinders - Pretty much all the cars I have bought have had glow plug failures at some time, so on the face of it not too worrying (code shown PO673 and PO672) - owner tells me that plugs already replaced but warning still showing, is this a case of codes not being reset of possible symptom of something else

Be aware that glowplug faults on a B6 passat can be a pain to fix and sometimes expensive.

I just bought an '07 Passat Sport TDI 170 @95k
Drives superbly. Collected it Tuesday and it's booked in with VW on Monday to get the injector 'Recall'.

Martin when you say a pain and expensive what do you mean? i keep getting the same fault code of glow plug open circuit. had it 5 times now, you may remember me in the other thread about it
