What would be the best way to empty a fuel tank without taking the tank out the car and without sucking it up through a pipe preferably !!

My girlfriends cars has died and has a full tank of fuel so we need to empty it before selling it on as a non runner.

easiest way mate is to go to a motor place and buy a syphoning pump, costs about £7 and it will do the job perfectly.

Thanks 95cabrio, found one and purchased on line. No point in wasting £50 worth of fuel just because the engine has packed up !

Jack it up at the rear, insert axle stands and disconnect fuel pipe at the tank end, and drain into containers.

Perhaps a little more involved than pumping/syphoning, but more chance of getting it all out and no hassle with the anti-syphon devices sometimes found in the filler neck.
