    hi all, need some help?
my t4 51 reg velle 2.5tdi auto and ac is loosing coolant, no wetness in footwalls but steam coming through the vents and steaming the windscreen.
i was told that its the heater matrix that needs replacing. can anyone explain if its possible to do without removing the entire dash ? if so how do i go about it.
is there any other problem or is it the matrix. does the fact that it has an ac unit make it more complicated...
    many thanks................yellowvelle

yes the complete dash panel must be removed, the fact the ac evaporator is in the same housing as the marix makes it a little more complicated normaly the complete unit (housing) is removed from the vehicle and the matrix replaced on the bench, you can not do that unless you discharge the ac gas first and disconnect the pipes, which is extra work,i think you can however replace the matrix with the housing still in the vehicle by first loosening the housing from the bulkhead and pulling the housing back enough to get the water pipes free of the bulkhead
