I decided to replace the inner main beam headlight units as the original Carello units are doing what most Italian parts, do rusting away. problem the replacement units are different but as shown in the VW parts CD. mine have a plastic 'sub frame' mounting not directly to the grille. I thought not a problem get a couple of the mounting kits part No 191 998 135 A BUT my local dealer says sorry discontinued in 2007-8.
My question is any alternative sources of parts? the lights were no problem but the fitting parts.....
At worst I could probably make something on my trusty Myford lathe but easier if parts are available.
Any known suppliers?
