Out of curiosity, what was it that lead you to the conclusion that the rear brakes on your car needed upgrading?
Also, what did you do to correct the front/rear bias that you've upset by improving your rear brake efficiency?

with drilled and grooved discs yes,or could be that rear discs were that knackered any thing would be an improvement but I cant help tinkering. If it can be done why not, besides the new discs were cheaper than standard 245's.

Actually I don't think the front/rear bias is an issue in cars any more with multichannel ABS systems. Used to be when ABS was fitted to the front only, that's if was fitted at all. I know that there would have been a pressure limiting valve fitted to the rear circuit, some of which were weight dependent..... that's just my 10p worth.

I set out to up grade the front and rear brakes it's just the rears have been done first. I intend to upgrade the front brakes to 315 discs fom the 288's the reason being I like to make a car stop quicker before I make it go faster, and as said before all discs needed replacing anyhow and the rear's were in the worst state.
To increase the disc size just means fitting the caliper carrier from the right model. In may case a 2.0T a4 b6 or b7 both run bigger brakes than the tdi.

I have a few questions about rear brakes, if any one can help?

Does any one know what size rear brake disc's for an Audi A4 2.0tdi S-line (55reg)?

Does any one know what size rear brake disc's for an Audi A4 2.0tdi SE (07reg)?

Is it possible to change from 245/10 disc's to 255/12 disc's, without changing anything else?

    Will Audi A4 2.0tdi SE (07reg) rear disc's (if different) fit an Audi A4 2.0tdi S-line (55reg)?

Also, are the rear pads the same for these two cars?

I thank you in advance for your replies

pretty vague as so many options on audi's
    1) are they i40 or 170 bhp ?
2)pads are the same wether they are 245's or 255's
3)if you go up to 255's on the rear you'll have to change the caliper carrier (the brkt holding the caliper to the sub frame.I have done this mod on my own avant and sorced the carriers from a scrap yard,I believe some 1.8T and 2.0T's 2001-2008 ran the bigger brakes.)
    4) you can also do the same on the front by going 288 x 25 to 312 x 25 once again you need to change the caliper carrier as the caliper and pads are the same.
ps at the same time I upgraded to drilled and grooved disc's ,fairly cheap of ebay.Hope this helps.

    Thanks for your reply!

    Sorry forgot to state: Audi A4 2.0tdi S-line (55reg) = 140bhp
    Audi A4 2.0tdi SE (07reg) = 170bhp

Do you know what size rear brake discs fit each car?
