    Hi

It's my first time posting to the forum so apologies if I'm asking stupid questions.

I've recently bought an Audi A3 TDI (2006). When I bought the car the car dealer (non-Audi) told me the battery in the key fob needed replacing hence the remote central locking wasn't working with the remote. I've replaced the battery and still the key fob doesn't work. So I've tried to program the fob to the car. I have been unsuccessful in doing this as well as I only have one key.

Today I took the car to a local independent garage who connected it up to the "Audi computer". They told me that the key fob couldn't be programmed to the car because the convenience module is showing as faulty.

I've tried searching online and can't find much info on the "Convenience module". I do however get a lot of searches pointing me to the Comfort module; is this the same thing?

How much will it cost to sort out the faulty convenience module?

The car dealer who sold the car to me is annoying unhelpful even though the car is under warranty!

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

    Welcome to the forum.

Without wishing to appear unhelpful I suggest you take the car back to the non-Audi dealer and ask him, very firmly, to fix it under warranty.

Ask the independent garage for a print out of the diagnostic scan and take that to your dealer. If it is a problem with the convenience/comfort module you do not want to get involved with the cost of replacement.

    Good luck !
