Right guys I’ve got weird issue with my Audi A3 1.8se 52reg, if I turn my front screen demisting fans on when the engine is running it kills the engine dead, turn off fans and engine runs fine no issues. If I have the fans on when the engine isn’t running I have no issues, and can also run the engine with the rear demister on with no issues. The battery is new and has been tested again just incase it was the issue.

Any advice or guidance given will be greatly appreciated

Is that "kills the engine dead" regardless of whether it's revving, or just ticking over? If it's just ticking over and turning on the front demister, then the aircon pump may be slowing the engine enough to stall it. If it's even when revving, then there must be something else.

Can you have a fault code read to see if there's anything stored?

Hi Nick, even if i`m doing 30mph it kills the engine dead but if engine not running the demisters run fine.
A guy off a local VAG forum has offered to fault check for me so hopefully this will find something.

When your engine is not running, then the air con compressor will not be turning, so the blower is running fine. If it's only occurring when the air con compressor is trying to operate, then it sugests to me that you have a compressor issue. Have you tried taking off the serpentine belt and turning the a/c compressor by hand?
