I have a good set of cams, genuine lifters, rocker arms and thrust pads. I can rebuild your engine for a good engine as well. Give me a ring on 077 899 12128 to discuss...

It will bolt on but a lot of bits will need swapping of the old one and fitted to the new one... Cams wear much faster as the crank due to the Longlife servicing (which should be called as Shortlife) but there is the possibility of bent rods if the turbo seals have gone and engine ran on it's own oil... I would take the sump off and check the rods before condemning the engine...I am replacing the engine on a a6 auto which had a messed up cambelt job (mark and pray job !), cyl. 5 and 6 dropped valves and 4 looks like it ingested something as its scored, did not took the other head off as the valves look ok. The cams were very badly worn and a few lifters were in pieces that's why i bought the parts but it looks like new engine time...i have the engine but not enough time ! I might have a engine going spare soon off my allroad though, how soon do you need it ?

Thechnically it will but it needs to be opened up. The CR might be higher on the a6 than the a4 and many parts need swapping from the other engine. I have built hybrids in the past and there are differences between the engines/pumps/ECU's and EGR/oil coolers, etc. Is there any chance you could recover the car to N. London ? I could supply and fit a v6 tdi engine for you for about £1000 all in. Do you intend to keep the car or sell ? I have a trailer i could pick your car on but Darlington is 244 miles away so i will burn more than 1 full tank of fuel and waste a whole day for the trip...
