I need to refit the glossy bits between the front and rear doors as i fed up with the rattling all the time and Audi dont seem capable of fixing them......

A mobile tech told me that to remove them you need to pull out the window seal as there a couple of screws holding these bits of trim on.

Any idea how to safely remove the window seal?

    Thanks

    did this at the weekend

With the window open, leaver the inside plastic surround back slightly (half way down the vertical) and you can then pull the seal off the inside of the door.

The seal should then pull out from behind the shiney/glossy door trim and you can then pull the lower part of it out from the bottom off the door.

This should reveal 3 x torq T20 screws which hold the door trim in place.

Remove these and then the most important part is to LOWER the trim down into the door slightly which releases retaining tab at the top part of the trim. It can then be pulled out

Refitting is the reversal but its a bit of a fiddle getting the seal back in and it tends to "wrinkle" slightly but not hugely noticably.

I refitted mine with various blobs of white silicon grease and soom loom tape over the retaining tab at at the top of the trim. It was more successful on the passenger door however the only real cure is to continuous treat the front to rear door seal with clear silicon spray (so all in all abit of a waste of time.............)

I noticed that the dealer had obviously had the trims off and fitted a bit of stciky back plastic to the inside of the vertical door edge. This clearly doesnt work so if you have a door/window rattle save yourself the pain and effort of 3 years taking it to the dealer and get youself a can of silicon spray and lube the seals once a week........

Hello there. Does anyone know what is the part number for the glossy bits between the front and rear doors. The actual rubber seal that makes the noise is split so I need to replace them. Thanks
