    Temperature controls O.K on passenger side, but on drivers side is usually cold, but occasionally works O.K.
    I think I must have a sticking flap servo, but where is the motor located?

    Take off the lower dash panel on the drivers side, if its not that side then remove the glovebox.
    A4 2.5 tdi QS (mapped)

    Thanks for the advice. Did as you suggested, & found yellow linkage that connects to motor has snapped off of ball-joint or whatever connects it to the motor.
    I guess I will need to take centre console & stereo etc out, to get any further.

    The yellow arm is connected directly to the motor,so you need to buy the motor itself.It is held on by 3 bolt head screws,I think they are 8mm heads.It can
    be removed without taking out the centre console but its quite awkward.

    It may not have snapped,have a look when you've got the motor off,exercise the lever by hand see if it operates,they should just click back in.
