Parking brake fault warning

I've got a fault that's developed with my parking brake, it's been identified as NS parking brake motor. I've booked her in for a replacement next week. In the mean time though the warning lights stay on the dash - both parts of the DIS, which I can live with, but as soon as I start moving a warning beep starts and stays on until I stop moving. The brake definitely isn't sticking on, or doing anything dangerous, so is there any way I can shut it up until the part is replaced? Even if it's a case of finding the sounder, if it's somewhere accessible and wrapping it to keep the noise down!!

Not really. You would have to continually clear the fault codes with a computer. I don; think you can code out the parking brake on the A6.

you may want to try cleaning the motor out before replacing it.

Thanks for the info, shame I can't shut it up! If I take the wheel off can I clean the motor in-situ, or is it best to take it off? Could anyone post any notes/diagrams (possibly workshop manual page(s)) for reference?
